Privacy Policy

The name, message, link and image you submit; your email address; the amount you paid and the timestamps of your reign; and a one-way hash of your IP address used only for abuse prevention and rate limiting. We do not store your raw IP address.

To display your entry (that is the product you bought), to send you transactional email about it, to take payment, to moderate content, to prevent abuse and fraud, and to keep records we are legally required to keep. Our legal bases under the GDPR are performance of a contract, legitimate interests in preventing abuse, and legal obligation.

Your display name, message, link, image, bid amount and reign duration are public and stay in the graveyard archive after you are dethroned. Your email address, hashed IP and payment details are never shown publicly.

Only the service providers we need to run the site: our payment provider (Stripe or Polar) for checkout and receipts, our hosting and database provider, our email provider for transactional messages, and an AI moderation service that screens submitted text and images. They process data on our instructions. We may also disclose data if legally required.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is no ad network and no advertising tracker on this site.

We use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage needed for checkout and site function. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, and no cross-site profiling. Our payment provider may set its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention.

Public entries and their graveyard record: indefinitely, unless you ask for deletion. Email addresses and payment records: 7 years, to meet tax and accounting obligations. Hashed IPs: 90 days. Moderation logs: 12 months.

Depending on where you live you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither). We never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Use the privacy choices form or email privacy@cooked.rip. We verify requests through the email address on the purchase and reply within 45 days. UK and EU residents may also complain to their local data protection authority.

The service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted an entry, email us and we will delete it.

Data is encrypted in transit, images are stored in a private bucket served through expiring signed links, and access is limited to the operators of the site. Our providers are US-based, so data may be processed in the United States under standard contractual clauses where required.

cooked.rip is operated online only; email is the fastest way to reach a human. We reply within 3 business days.
